Formative research to explore and better understand stigma and discrimination towards people with disabilities, including people with mental health conditions
Sightsavers is seeking the services of a consultant(s) with expertise in disability and mental health, social and behaviour change communication (SBCC) and participatory and qualitative social research to conduct formative research and develop an SBCC strategy to reduce stigma and discrimination against people with disabilities, including people with mental health conditions. This work will take place under the Ghana Somubi Dwumadie (Ghana Participation Programme), which is running from January 2020 to March 2024 and is nested within the UK Government’s Leave No One Behind (LNOB) programme. Ghana Somubi Dwumadie will contribute towards the overall LNOB impact goal that all people with disabilities and mental health conditions in Ghana are engaged, empowered and able to enjoy improved wellbeing, social and economic outcomes, and rights.
The Programme contributes towards reduction of stigma and discrimination against people with disabilities, including mental health conditions in Ghana through grant-giving to implement innovative SBCC activities.

- Expression of Interest outlining their capability to undertake the Formative Research and the ability to develop an SBCC Strategy, in line with the Terms of Reference (TOR),
- a two page technical proposal demonstrating their understanding of the assignment including an indicative workplan; a financial proposal outlining cost elements, providing consultant day rates and anticipated data collection costs.
- at least two samples of relevant previous work;
- and CVs of the Core Team Member/s to carry out the assignment
