Core Functions / Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be responsible for the following tasks:
1) Mapping of the relevant stakeholders.
2) Preparation of standard survey questionnaire for relevant institutions and beneficiaries
through several data collection tools.
3) Travel to the selected provinces for conducting field research for the assessment.
4) Draft a specific component that includes a vulnerability assessment, in order to support
the process of drafting guidelines on screening, identification and referral.
5) Prepare weekly progress report/meeting with IOM to discuss updates.
6) Conduct a needs assessment within the required timeframe and in line with the ToRs.
7) Submit a comprehensive report on the needs assessment with recommendations.
8) Coordinate with local authorities and relevant stakeholders.
9) Receive input and feedback from IOM prior to submission of the final report.
Deliverables:
1) Design questionnaire and other data collection tools with well-defined methodology to
complete the tasks.
2) Successful completion of needs assessment.
3) Presentation of a comprehensive report on the needs assessment.
4) Completion of the assignment and final report to be delivered 30 days following
signature of contract.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
· University degree, preferably in sociology, migration studies and emergency
response, social work or social sciences (advanced degree is an asset).
· A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in capacity and needs
assessment, emergency response, working with NGOs and local communities.
Experience
· Experience in developing research and reports with concise recommendation and
action plan whilst consolidating information from variety of sources.
· Practical experience in research methods.
· Practical experience in collecting primary data including the conduction and
reporting on results of Key Informant Interviews and Focus Group Discussions.
