Job Title: Country Lead

Location: Accra, Ghana

Contract duration: 2 years

DRS is seeking a Country Lead in Ghana for a globally focused NGO that promotes sustainable building practices. The role involves managing projects such as the Green Building Roadmap, Net Zero Carbon Building Framework, and Green Affordable Housing initiatives. The successful candidate should be based in or near Jakarta due to frequent stakeholder meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic oversight and direction for the implementation of the National Roadmap for Green Buildings, the Net Zero Carbon Building Framework, and Green Affordable Housing projects.
  • Develop and execute high-level strategies to achieve the program’s objectives and align with national and international climate goals.
  • Ensure the effective management and execution of projects in accordance with strategic objectives and client expectations.
  • Oversee project design and implementation, ensuring all processes meet standardized requirements and involve all relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse project team, including senior associates and specialists, to ensure high performance and achievement of project milestones.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance environment within the team.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, donors, and international agencies.
  • Facilitate strategic partnerships and manage stakeholder engagement at both national and sub-national levels.
  • Ensure that project operations align with client priorities, donor requirements, and technical standards.
  • Oversee financial management, including the proper disbursement and utilization of project funds.
  • Drive the documentation and analysis of monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities.
  • Review and approve comprehensive project reports and ensure timely delivery of updates to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in senior management roles overseeing complex projects with multiple stakeholders, particularly in sustainable building, energy conservation, or climate change sectors.
  • Deep understanding of climate change mitigation strategies, energy conservation, and sustainable building practices. Knowledge of Ghana’s climate policies and the building sector’s supply chain is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record in leading large teams, managing external consultants, and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining high-level relationships with government agencies, industry partners, donors, and international organizations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to produce and present complex reports clearly and concisely.
