 Title of the ProjectExpanded Program of Immunization (EPI) Cold Chain Census of Public Health Facilities of Ethiopia

The Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) with other development partners will conduct a national EPI cold chain assessment, which will be a census of all public health facilities (Hospitals, Health centers and Health Posts) and at all regional health bureaus, zonal health departments, and woreda health offices, including the current structure of managing EPI cold chain through PSA.

The National Cold Chain Inventory will be done with a view to quantify and characterize the condition of cold chain equipment throughout the country. In addition, it is deemed to evaluate per level all logistical aspects (storage capacity, working status and distribution), to give inputs to identify immediate and long-term requirements to meet current and future EPI needs, especially in the context of future vaccine requirement, and to generate data for the inventory that will serve as an important information source for generating a cold chain expansion, maintenance and a replacement plan.

Therefore, EPHI requires competent professionals to work on this project. The required position, field of study with experience is attached here for the recruitment process.

Note:

  • Those who are interested to work for the project should choose their place of work by their language ability, those who speak Oromiffa, Tigrigna, Somaligna, Afar, Sidamigna, Wolaytigna, etc. will be assigned in the specified regions based on their language ability.
  • Any one, who will be assigned by the project leaders, should work in any place without complaining. But those who can speak more than on language will have an advantage of assignment.
  • All of you have to make sure that you will work for more than 2 months, so you should have atleast 3 months leave of absence.

Job Requirements

BSc in Nursing, Midwifery, Health Officer or any health and health related fields. 2010/2011 E.C graduates Have an 0  experience of data collection at community/health facility level and have also a proven experience of work as a supervisor/team leader. Those who have an experience of working in community/health facility-based surveys like EPI, Post Measles SIA, Post Men-A, SPA+, SARA, EmONC or NCD have an added advantage

The Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) is the result of the merger in April 1995 of the former National Research Institute of Health (NRIH), the Ethiopian Nutrition Institute (ENI) and the Department of Traditional medicine (DTM) of the Ministry of Health.

The merger was affirmed by the council of ministers regulation No 4/1996, which recognized the Institute as an autonomous public authority having its own legal personality.
