ActionAid (AA) is an international anti-poverty agency formed in 1972. We are a partnership between people in poor and rich countries working together to end poverty and injustice. We are seeking to recruit the following positions to be based in either London, Nairobi or Johannesburg:

  1. Digital Campaigner (Maternity cover for 6 months) – The role will coordinate ActionAid’s regional and global online advocacy and campaigns presence and advises countries on digital strategies. You will be responsible for making the online presence of the signature campaign come to life. Leads the development and roll-out of communication and digital engagement tools and products for signature campaign, support country campaigns and our youth programming and engagement. To qualify for this role you need a Relevant Bachelors or Master’s degree or more than five years’ experience in civil society campaigning.
  2. Internal Communications Coordinator (1-year contract) – The role will lead in ensuring timely, accurate management information is shared and cascaded from Directors through to staff. The role holder will promote informal and formal communications around mission related achievements and activities reinforcing a culture of “excellence and activism” and support the Global Secretariat Leadership on specific communications related activities. To qualify for the role you need a degree and/or a minimum of five years’ work experience in internal organisational communications and information management. Do you have proven ability to write and tailor key messaging in an accessible manner to various stakeholders? Are you Experienced and have excellent skills in the use of communications technology (specifically social media, audio and video, intranet/sharepoint, Microsoft Office 365 etc.)? Jeroninio Almeida, the fund-raising director of ActionAid asserted that a serious subject can be dealt with in an entertaining way, without trivializing the issue. ActionAid spent Rs 50 lakh for the making of the movie.ActionAid also supported Shyam Benegal's 'Samar', starring Rajit Kapoor and Rajeshwari Sachdev. It is based on the book Unheard Voices: Stories of Forgotten Lives, written by Harsh Mander. The film raises issues about Dalits
