Finn Church Aid (FCA) is the largest Finnish international aid organization. We operate in 13 countries, where the needs are most dire. We contribute to positive change by supporting people in the most vulnerable situations within fragile and disaster-affected areas. We consider three thematic areas as central to sustainable change: the right to peace (R2P), livelihood (R2L) and quality education (R2QE).

In Kenya, FCA has been working since 2014 in all three thematic areas, supporting local communities and governments to resolve and prevent conflicts in five counties of northern Kenya; providing access to primary education in Turkana, Garissa, Marsabit, West Pokot and Samburu, Kenya’s poorest counties; and improving access to quality education for children, youth, and their families with holistic support mechanisms. FCA also provides emergency cash assistance to drought-affected families in Garissa.

FCA Kenya is implementing advanced digital skills training project building on the experiences gained in the Creative Industries program and the potential of young men and women who possess digital skills to engage in a broad range of economic activities in the sector with well-targeted support. The project is aimed at providing emerging creatives with the technical and entrepreneurship skills, knowledge, resources, and access to networks necessary to tap into economic opportunities in Kenya’s creative industry.

FCA KECO is actively recruiting skilled Digital Marketing Trainer for a 9-month contract in Nairobi. As a trainer at FCA KECO, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive training sessions to equip participants with advanced digital skills necessary for successful transitions into jobs and alignment with emerging trends in the sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital technologies and a proven track record of effectively delivering training programs.

Objectives & Deliverables

  • Develop (intermediate to advanced level) comprehensive training/coaching curriculum and practical sessions covering various aspects of digital marketing such as SEO, SEM, social media marketing, email marketing, content marketing, and analytics.
  • Provide personalized coaching and support to participants to facilitate their learning and skill development.
  • Collaborate with the project team to organize networking events, guest speaker sessions, and industry panels to connect participants with professionals in the creative industries.
  • Facilitate mentorship opportunities and encourage participants to engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of industry trends and advancements.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders to facilitate job placements and market linkages for participants.
  • Implement regular assessments and evaluations to measure participant learning outcomes and identify areas for improvement.

Skills and qualifications required

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in delivering (intermediate to advanced level) training programs on digital marketing.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies and tools, digital technologies and emerging trends in the industry.
  • Previous experience of delivering Training Programmes through online platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Virtual Learning platforms.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of participants.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt training content to meet the needs of different learning styles.
  • Ability to train basics of website/Google analytics.
  • Experience in curriculum development and instructional design is a plus.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of global/regional and local (Kenya) job market dynamics, in addition to industry connections in Nairobi is desirable.

Africa and Asia as the main targets

In 2016, FCA provided aid for 34 million euros in value. The majority of our funds come from private investors, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, and parishes. Over 85 percent of the donated funds are directed to aid work. The share of domestic operations and general administration is about 15 percent.

Most of our assistance goes to Africa. The need for assistance on the continent has been caused and maintained by political instability, prolonged crises and natural disasters. The second most significant target for aid funds is Asia, which has the largest number of people living in poverty.
