Purpose of The Job

 

Organize and undertake the mobilization and demobilization of the drilling machine and carryout the actual drilling work at the communities and look for machine safety during operation.

Major duties and Responsibilities

  • Organize, and coordinate the overall activities of the drilling operation;
  • Report timely the progress of the drilling operation;
  • Facilitate mobilization and demobilization of the drilling crew and machinery;
  • Supervise the proper setting of the drilling rig and use of proper tools;
  • Provide with the necessary information for well completion;
  • Plan and facilitate the regular service and maintenance of the drilling rig, compressor and trucks along with the chief mechanic/ or the mechanic driver;
  • Provide the lithological and other relevant data for casing arrangement and assist the Drilling Operation Officer for the same;

Job Requirements

Education:  Diploma in Auto mechanics & related fields such as in Auto electricity, Auto mechanics, General mechanics, woodwork, metal work.

Training and experience requirements:  Minimum 8 years working with heavy drilling rigs.

Experience:  Drilling technique training + Auto mechanics

Other Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3rd grade driving license is mandatory.
  • Ability in welding is advantageous.

Working on heavy drilling rigs is advantageous

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment:  Office-based in Addis Ababa with frequent travel to the field
  • Travel:  80% Domestic travel is required.
  • On call:  20%
