Background

World Vision International (WVI) is a Christian humanitarian, development and rights advocacy organization whose goal is to create sustainable changes in the lives of children, families and communities living in poverty. As part of the fight against HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria in the Central African Republic, WVI has been selected as a Principal Recipient of the Global Fund GC7 grant for the period from 2024 to 2026.

As part of the health system strengthening component of the grant, specifically in the area of human resources, WVI is recruiting 8 specialized medical doctors on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Population. These specialists will be assigned to specific hospitals in country to fill current gaps, ensure the transfer of skills and build the capacities of students of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Bangui.

Skills required:

  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine with specialization in Endocrinology.
  • Registration with the Order of Physicians and good knowledge of medical regulations and standards in
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in endocrinology, preferably in a university hospital setting.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proven teaching skills and interest in medical education.

Objective of the position:

The endocrinologist is responsible for the care of patients suffering from endocrine disorders within the CNHUB. This position also includes teaching, research and training responsibilities.

Main responsibilities:

Patient Care:

  • Assess, diagnose and treat patients with complex endocrine disorders, using advanced diagnostic techniques and clinical best practices.
  • Collaborate with other specialists and medical team members to provide multidisciplinary patient care and participate in collaborative meetings to discuss complex cases.
  • Ensure regular follow-up of patients in consultation

Education:

  • Mentor and train medical residents, interns, and medical students on the clinical and therapeutic aspects of endocrine disorders.
  • Organize and facilitate seminars, clinical presentations, and educational sessions for medical staff and medical students.
  • Actively participate in continuing education and professional development programs for physicians and healthcare professionals.

Research:

  • Participate in clinical research projects in the field of endocrinology, including study design, data collection, analysis of results, and publication of scientific articles.
  • To collaborate with other researchers and institutions to promote the advancement of knowledge in the field of endocrinology.

Interdisciplinary collaboration:

  • Work closely with other clinical departments and departments to ensure integrated patient management and develop standardized care protocols.
  • Participate in hospital committee meetings and working groups on treatment protocols and public health policies in endocrinology.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Fixed-term contract (full-time).
  • With remuneration: according to the salary scale in force for international hospital doctors.
  • Dynamic academic hospital environment providing opportunities for continuing professional development and collaboration with internationally renowned experts.
