Methodica Consulting is a consulting firm specialised in measuring social change in complex settings. We build tailored M&E and research methodologies to support public and private entities in delivering social change in remote locations, fragile states, and developing countries.

What we’re looking for

Methodica Consulting is currently looking for evaluators or experts in peacebuilding and access to justice in the Great Lakes region. The successful applicant will demonstrate the following:

  • Based in either DRC or Rwanda
  • 10+ years of experience in peacebuilding and/or access to justice projects in either DRC or Rwanda;
  • Knowledge of the legal, judicial and political context of the Great Lakes region, with a demonstrated network of contacts amongst judicial and political-administrative actors in either DRC or Rwanda;
  • A Master’s degree or PhD preferably in law; other eligible subjects include conflict resolution, peacebuilding, human rights, international relations or development.
  • Excellent written and spoken French and English, knowledge of local languages/dialects where applicable;
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) is a strong asset, as the consultant can also undertake M&E tasks;

The consultant will join the evaluation team on selected evaluation mandates, supporting on the development and implementation of the methodology; they can also conduct in-country data collection activities.

The Level of Effort (LoE) may vary depending on the specific profile:

  • Profiles with M&E experience will participate in evaluation mandates with roles and responsibilities depending on their seniority;
  • Profiles without M&E experience will be contracted as experts; they are not involved in the day-to-day management of the project but rather provide input at specific moments, which can be scheduled in advance.
