Job Description

  • The IFCC Consultant will provide technical oversight to coordinate the activities of Implementing Faith and Cultural Champions (IFFCs) who have been sub-granted to leverage their platforms and affiliates to implement approved tailored interventions to address identified social norms and behaviours that negate the health and well-being of AGYW in focal LGAs of Kano and Kaduna States.
  • Inclusivity is central to this role to ensure meaningful participation of persons with disabilities, Adolescent Boys and Men (ABYM), pastoralist groups, and other marginalised groups across the LGAs, including hard-to-reach communities.

Responsibilities
Program coordination and supervision:

  • Supervise the implementation of IFCC’s workplan to ensure adherence to the approved Implementation plan, set timelines, and processes of proposed MNCH/CBS intervention packages.
  • Ensure effective IFCCs community relations to foster participation and ownership within the unique context of each community in the LGA.
  • Ensure all activities are compliant and adhere to FCC Project ethical standards, organizational policies, and donor requirements.
  • Facilitate inter-IFFC relations at the LGA level to foster dialogue and understanding to strengthen collaboration, synergy, and partnership.
  • Working with the FCC Project Program Officer, support strategic planning and implementation of IFCCs activities at the community and LGA level.
  • Ensure sustained availability of only FCC Project-approved guides, SOPs, and protocols are deployed for all community-level activities and interventions.

Stakeholder and community engagement:

  • Serve as the CCSI’s liaison with key stakeholders and provide support to promote awareness and enhance project visibility.
  • Represent IFCCs at LGA stakeholders’ meetings and forums to promote its mission and raise
  • In conjunction with the IFCCs, ensure timely and periodic update/feedback meetings with community-based Traditional and religious leaders on implementation progress.
  • Work with the LGA local authorities to support IFCCs identify and secure conducive activity (orientation, Town Hall meetings, etc) venues in the LGA and communities.
  • Engage LGA local authorities to support the establishment of functional, inclusive, and accessible community systems and structures for Emergency Transportation for pregnant women.
  • Coordinate the attendance and participation of key stakeholders (LGA Health Authorities, Traditional and religious leaders, and other relevant stakeholders) in IFCC engagement/meetings in the LGA.

Monitoring and Documentation:

  • Ensure LGA reports and monitoring records are accurate and up to
  • Coach and mentor IFCCs to document and maintain accurate and up-to-date records and
  • Conduct facility visits to verify referral records, service records, and plan outreach
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, participants, and outcomes of IFCCs activities at the
  • Ensure timely compilation and submission of project reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the

Requirements
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • B.Sc. Degree in Communications, Adult Education, Public Relations, Social Science, or a similar relevant field. Post Graduate Degree in Arts and Social Sciences, or its equivalent, is an added advantage
  • At least five years’ experience coordinating and facilitating public Health / faith-based interventions at the community level.
  • Demonstrated Experience working with or understanding the modalities of working) with LGA Health Authority, Traditional and Religious leaders, NGOs, and other relevant community stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in the local language (Hausa).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proficient command of the Hausa

Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Excellent communication skills, empathy, adaptability, resilience, and cultural and religious sensitivity.
  • Ability to identify red flags, mitigate risks / backlash and proffer timely solutions to
