JOB CONTEXT:
Since January 2024, HI has been responding to Sudan’s crisis. HI’s joint multisectorial response in Gedaref State, implemented with a Sudanese partner NGO, is already providing physical and functional rehabilitation services in healthcare centers and at community level, as well as MHPSS services, including individual and group counselling. HI is further engaged at the humanitarian coordination level to mainstream disability inclusion throughout the humanitarian response.

HI plans to scale up its response from both geographic and modalities/sectorial perspectives. In particular, HI is deploying emergency response teams in Darfur, to setup its operations and initiate its response in the western parts of Sudan. The advertised vacancy is to be part of that team.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION:

Humanity & Inclusion (HI), together with a local NGO starts a project in Sudan. Due to the administrative constraints to obtain visas in Sudan, the HI team is based in Nairobi, providing remote support to the local partners. Depending on VISA approval, HI teams will have the possibility to travel to Sudan for field and monitoring visits. The project includes physical and functional rehabilitation, MHPSS, Protection and Inclusive Humanitarian Action.

YOUR MISSION:
Under the management of Darfur Area Manager, you are responsible for ensuring that the finance and human resources management are consistent with Hi’s policies and standards and with local regulations. You advise managers in your geographical area on all the HR and processes they roll out and you are responsible for the financial steering and operational financial management and also maintaining the social environment in your country. You will also support the local implementing partner in the financial and human resources aspects.

Your main responsibilities are the following:

  • Ensuring the mission’s accountancy and cash flow management
  • Carrying out management of budget and donor funding contracts
  • Ensuring the implementation of the mission’s HR processes (recruitment, remuneration, social and healthcare coverage, evaluation, training) and compliance with local legal framework
  • Guaranteeing international andnational personnel administration at mission level
  • Managing support services team
  • In collaboration with HQ HR Specialist and Emergency Unit, organizing and coordinating the recruitment of the program team
  • Supporting the HQ team in the opening of the program in Kenya
  • Emergency preparedness and response

YOUR PROFILE:

  • You have proven experience of at least 5 years in a coordination position, in Finance and HR
  • You have experience in team management and in capacity building
  • You have a strong knowledge of planning, purchasing, procurement, recruitment, budgeting and donor reporting
  • You are able to work under high pressure

  • R&R: according to the level of the mission 5 days every 8 weeks + possible transport/package support
  • Position: Unaccompanied
  • Housing: Collective taken in charge by HI.
