This position provides overall support to the JPS Africa NPC office in the areas of finance and administration. Duties will include: maintaining fixed assets register, capturing transactions on QuickBooks, ensuring supporting documentation is complete, analysing and capturing information on spreadsheets, preparing bank reconciliation statements, budget preparations and monitoring, preparation of donor reports, preparation of VAT returns, etc. Preparation monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements. Supervising Finance Officer and Finance Assistants. The position will be based in Pretoria.

Requirements include:

A postgraduate degree in financial management, or other relevant area and professional qualification an added advantage. A minimum of five (5) years post qualification experience in financial management. Experience working with an international NGO or implementing US donor-funded programs, Global Fund, etc. Fluency in English and at least one other South African language.

Responsibilities include: 

The ideal candidate will be able to handle a heavy workload while maintaining accuracy and timely completion of assignments; present a competent, professional and mature image; and maintain currency with administrative and financial rules, regulations, and policies related to JPS Africa NPC operations. In addition, the preferred candidate will have skill in exercising judgment in decision-making; strong interpersonal skills and a customer service focus to providing information and advice; and an intermediate level of computer literacy in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and use of the Internet. Knowledge of QuickBooks and / or other accounting packages, and US government (USG) rules and regulations and other donor funding knowledge will be advantageous.
