Opportunity International was founded in 1971 and exists to bring about a measure of justice, dignity and purpose for families living in poverty. We do this by supporting local microfinance organizations that provide innovative financial solutions to empower people, create small businesses and build vibrant communities. This year, we are celebrating 45 years of Opportunity. We serve 12 million hardworking entrepreneurs in 28 countries around the world and have big plans for the world: a world without poverty where people can live with dignity and purpose. Our clients have ambitious dreams for their futures, but lack the opportunities needed to make those dreams a reality. Opportunity goes where others won’t to give these inspiring people access to financial services including loans, savings, insurance and other financial services and training—all which empower these entrepreneurs to work their way out of poverty and build a new sustainable future for themselves and their families. Our approach to poverty is different. We don’t just provide loans and access to banking services. We educate and guide our clients every step of the way, so they can achieve continuous growth. Our innovative programs help make this possible, creating structure and support for people as they start and expand their businesses. Visit www.opportunity.org for more information.
