James House Child and Youth Care Centre runs two pioneering residential treatment centres for adolescents (age 14 – 16) with frequent challenging behaviour.

James House seeks to appoint a Finance Manager / Administrator to be based in Cape Town.

Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting or Business Management
  • Proficiency in MS Office – including (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Pastel Payroll and Outlook)
  • Thorough knowledge of a range of accounting systems (Preference for Sage Evolution)
  • Payroll services i.e.  Annual WCA submission, Annual IRP 5 tax certificates and Bi-annual EMP501 declaration
  • Proficiency in GAAP and HR Practices
  • Ability to prepare SARS returns and submit by e-filing
  • Familiar with electronic banking (Standard Bank)
  • English verbal and written communication skills
  • Communication skills in other South African languages would be an added advantage
  • Financial report writing skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Team player
  • Self-motivated, a self-starter and able to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to use own initiative and take ownership of his/her tasks
  • Must be motivated and self-disciplined
  • Ability to work with care, understanding and enthusiasm
