FINANCE OFFICER
The AIDS Foundation of South Africa (AFSA) was selected by the South African Country Coordinating Mechanism to serve as one of the Principal Recipients for the funding grant from the Global Fund to fight HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria (GF) for the funding cycle which commenced in April 2016.
AFSA wishes to appoint a suitably qualified individual to serve as a Finance Officers for the GF grant. Only suitable applicants residing in surrounding Durban area will be considered. Applicants must have the ability to work in a demanding and high pressured environment and be able and willing to work long hours.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Data capturing financial transactions for Global Fund in books
- Bank and creditor reconciliations for Global Fund
- Other bookkeeping duties including site visit to SR’s to assist with finances and accounts.
Requirements:
- Relevant financial degree or diploma in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Minimum 3 years bookkeeping experience, preferably within NGO/ development sector.
- Advanced working experience on Pastel Evolution.
- Demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills.
- Attention to detail and good problem solving skills.
- Valid driver’s licence and at least one year’s driving experience a strong recommendation.
