A day in the life of a Food Assistance Program Manager in South Sudan:

In the role of Food Assistance Program Manager, you will have the opportunity to:
- Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
- Manage day-to-day program implementation and support emergency food distributions with oversight of food storage, transport, and distribution
- Ensure that the program objectives are delivered on time and on budget
- Develop and implement a detailed procurement plan for all required food assistance materials well in advance with Nutrition/Food Security/Livelihood Technical Leads and Logistics Manager
- Assess, manage, and report critical physical, emotional or spiritual concerns of supervised staff to appropriate personnel
- Liaise with the donor, in conjunction with the Grants Manager and Deputy Country Director, to develop program plans and resolve ongoing issues.
- Ensure the program team has a clear understanding of the food security and nutrition situation in the area of operation
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience:
- Strong understanding of humanitarian food assistance programs.
- Bachelors degree and two (2) to three (3) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience working in complex areas, particularly in Africa.
- Capacity to write, develop and manage WFP grants/budgets.
- Able to communicate diplomatically with other NGO, governmental, and community partners.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in an ever-changing environment.
- Culturally sensitive and respectful of church leaders from all denominations
- 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, opportunity to meet and complete requirement is available upon hire.
