As a Global Security Manager you will lead and oversee LM International’s global security efforts, ensuring a robust and proactive security framework to protect personnel, assets, and operations. The position will provide strategic and operational direction, build capacity, manage risks, and respond to emergencies. This role is central to strengthening LM’s preparedness, resilience, and operational effectiveness in fragile and high-risk environments.

Grounded on Christian values and with the strong vision “Dignified life – sustainable world” we conduct international development cooperation and humanitarian aid in approximately 20 countries, primarily in Africa and Latin America, but also in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. With around 400 employees, our operations span our Global office in Stockholm, Mobilisation offices in Stockholm, New York and Oslo, regional hubs in Panama City, Dubai, and Nairobi, and ten country offices in sub-Saharan Africa and Ukraine.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Security Management: Lead and implement LM’s global security strategy, operations, and crisis response to ensure alignment with international standards.
  • Team Leadership & Coordination: Lead and coordinate the Global Security Team while maintaining strategic communication with leadership.
  • Operational Strategy: Monitor and drive the implementation of security plans, procedures, and communication systems across the organization.
  • Capacity Building & Learning: Facilitate and lead security training and knowledge sharing to build organizational security competence and partnerships.
  • Other Responsibilities: Support additional security tasks and contribute to broader strategic initiatives as needed.

Essential Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Security Management, International Relations, or a related field with at least 5 years of experience; or Bachelor’s degree in the same fields with at least 9 years of progressive experience in security management, preferably in the humanitarian or development sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience in crisis response, risk analysis, and operational security in fragile contexts.
  • Strong understanding of INGO operations and the challenges of securing personnel and assets in complex environments.
  • Proven leadership and team coordination experience in multicultural settings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to field locations, including high-risk environments.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of French, Spanish, or Arabic is an asset.
  • Experience working with international faith-based organizations.
  • Familiarity with the security challenges and contexts in LM International’s key countries of operation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across functions and geographies.

About the Position:

Start Date: September 2025

Location: Nairobi (with frequent international travel)

Collaborates with: Global Crisis Management Team (CMT)

Contract: Full-time, with a 6-month probation period
