The AIDS Foundation of SA (AFSA) is a development organisation that exists to support local, national and regional efforts to reduce new HIV, STI and TB infections, address the social and structural drivers of HIV, remove the barriers to the realisation of sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR), and build resilient communities.
AFSA wishes to appoint a suitably qualified individual to serve as a Grant Officers for the Global Fund (GF) grant. Only suitable applicants residing in surrounding Durban area will be considered. Applicants must have the ability to work in a demanding and high pressured environment and be able and willing to work long hours.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct capacity and verification assessments of Sub-recipients (SRs) Orientate and train SRs on GF Program financial management and compliance policies and procedures and provide technical assistance to SRs as required
- Monitor and track the financial expenditure, accounting and compliance of SRs, by means of monthly review of financial reports and source documents and regular site inspections to SRs
- Prepare periodic financial reports for submission to Finance Manager
- Ensure that SRs properly prepare their accounts and financial records for the annual external audit.
Requirements:
- B.Com degree majoring in Accounting, Cost Management or Auditing
- Minimum 4 years financial postgraduate experience, preferably within NGO/ development sector
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience working in Pastel Evolution.
- Demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills;
- Attention to detail and good problem solving skills
- Valid driver’s license required and at least one year’s driving experience.
