Mission

As part of the implementation of the Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP), it should be noted that the position may require to have access to children and/or personal data about children (Risk level 1).

Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Grant & Reporting Officer provides organizational and technical support to the Program Coordinator, Project Managers, the MEAL team, and the Head of Mission to ensure the effective implementation of program activities. The role also includes providing ad hoc support to the Kenya–Somalia Support Services team and contributing to effective coordination between SIF Headquarters and the mission.

Your main responsabilities are the following (evolving and non exhaustive list) :

  • Contribute to the preparation of project proposals by coordinating inputs from programme teams, technical advisors, HQ and partners, ensuring timely and compliant submission in line with the mission’s proposal development plan ;
  • Support effective grant management by facilitating coordination meetings and contributing to the timely preparation of donor narrative and financial reports while ensuring compliance with donor and SIF requirements ;
  • Assist the Head of Mission and Programme Coordinator in strengthening resource mobilisation through donor mapping, preparation of briefing materials, and support to engagement with in-country donor representatives ;
  • Strengthen programme teams’ capacities by providing guidance and training on SIF and donor guidelines, proposal development, and reporting processes ;
  • Provide occasional support to finance, administration and logistics functions, including assistance with budget monitoring, documentation, and procurement procedures to ensure operational compliance and efficiency.

Profile

  • Minimum Experience : At least 1 year experience in proposal, project, or programme development, reporting, or grants management in an INGO ;
  • Good knowledge of donor rules, regulations, and procedures including but not limited to UN agencies, and European donors and US EU funding mechanisms ;
  • Very good organisational skills, anticipation, respect of planning and deadlines ;
  • Ability to plan workload and demonstrate accountability and proactivity for outputs ;
  • Fluent English essential.

Conditions :

· Starting date : As soon as possible.

· French fixed term contract : 6 months.

· Remuneration according to our salary grid.

· Monthly perdiem/guesthouse

· Health insurance (SIF contributes to 70% of the insurance).

· Rapatriation insurance (100% covered by SIF)

· R&R to your home country covered by SIF after 6 months of mission.

· Leaves every 3 months

North-East Nigeria is currently affected by one of the world’s most serious humanitarian crisis. Confronted to Boko Haram’s violence, over 15 000 000 people are affected by the crisis including 7 000 000 in need of emergency humanitarian assistance, over 2 000 000 IDPs and 4,5 million food insecure people. Following an exploratory mission conducted in September/October 2016, SIF is opening a mission in Nigeria in order to cover the FoodSec, WaSh & Protection needs of the most affected people in and around Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.
