The role

In a nutshell, as the HR and Admin Coordinator, you will be an integral part of the support unit that ensures high-quality, efficient, and proactive HR, administration, and logistics services within the project office. Your excellent standard of consistent behind-the-scenes support will increase technical teams’ operational efficiency and help a premier $15M program to deliver high impact. You are a member of the support unit and work closely with the project’s leadership team and the TechnoServe Addis Ababa office to ensure project compliance with governmental, organizational, and donor systems, policies, and procedures. You will set up the project office in Dilla and ensure project facilities, resources, and vehicles operate properly and safely so projects teams can achieve impact. You will directly supervise an office assistant and seven drivers and manage HR functions for the project office and your team will arrange logistics for numerous individuals and project teams simultaneously.

 The Project

The project will help farmers boost productivity and expand trade. Specifically, the Regrow Yirga program seeks to serve 42,000+ farmers, 45+ processing businesses, and coffee industry service providers. The project will launch an innovative Farmer Stumping Fund which will facilitate direct incentive (tools or cash) transfers to farmers to encourage tree rejuvenation which has the potential to be scaled up to over 1 million coffee farmers nation-wide.

This USD 15 million project finds its roots in TechnoServe’s 10+ years of experience working with the coffee farmers in Ethiopia. Our work was recently honored as the “Origin Charity of the Year” by the National Coffee Association – the leading trade organization for the coffee industry in the United States.

Job Requirements

Our ideal candidate –

1.    Has a strong, demonstrated experience in office administration and bookkeeping with at least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience

2.    Has a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field

3.    Easily understands (and can explain to others) relevant legislation, policies, and procedures

4.    Has excellent written and verbal communication skills (both Amharic and English)

5.    Efficiently manages multiples tasks simultaneously for different individuals and teams

6.    Is results oriented and works to find solutions to unique challenges faced

7.    Embraces our values of collegiality (we stick our necks out for each other), integrity (doing the ‘right thing’ regardless), resourcefulness (solve problems) and results (bias for action)
