The Role
Reporting to the Country Director, you will lead the Human Resource & Organisational Development (HR&OD) function for the Oxfam in Sierra Leone programme. The HROD Manager works as part of the senior management team to provide a professional, pro-active, business focused organisational development and human resource management service, developing and implementing people strategies that support the delivery of Oxfam’s country strategy. Working with teams you will provide solutions focused support on all aspects of people management, influencing mangers and staff while ensuring HR business processes are relevant and in line with organisational policy. As a line manager, you will coach, mentor and manage the HR Officer ensuring that the HR team is delivering an excellent service and continuously improving HR Policy, Procedures and Practices. At a strategic level, the HROD Manager will focus on longer-term people issues, matching resources to future needs, as well as structure, quality, culture, values and commitment and at the operational level, deliver on day-to-day operational HR functions.
What we are looking for
We are looking for an influential and collaborative team player who shares our vision and values and is keen to play a significant part in enabling change in our organization. You will have an OD qualification, or equivalent professional knowledge gained through significant experience working as an OD specialist or as an HR generalist with an OD focus; You will have strong foundational background in HR with leadership experience in people functions, particularly HR and Organisational Development. Working in complex organisational structures, you will be adept at forging effective working relationships at all levels, especially, in a multicultural context. Experience of supporting and or leading on change management will be critical for this role. You will be highly flexible and able to produce creative and practical solutions to a variety of complex HR issues.
