Specialist – Nutrition

Length of Internship- 3 Months

Duty base:  Head Office

  1. JOB SUMMARY

Sexual Reproductive and Nutrition unit works on different projects. These projects include TESFA, Abdi Boru, Nutrition at the Center and EU-SHARE. The projects focus on empowerment of women and girls. The unit works to change the communities’ gender norms and to address women and girls economic, reproductive health and education related problems.

The intern will be engaged in:

  • Participate in M&E related training  whenever there is an opportunity
  • Work with the project staff to adapt tools to ensure proper data collection,
  • Assist the project in data collection, data entry, analysis and report writing,
  • Facilitate in sharing of M&E tools and best practice among the SRHN unit M&E staffs,
  • Follow project activities in achieving the project outputs
  • Assist the unit in documentation of different projects,
  • Conduct regular monitoring of the project activities in different Field offices
  • Assist in filling SRHN unit outcome /impact indicators in CARE USA only
  • Involve in development of proposals
  • Assist the projects in filling and sharing different information as required
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of achievement results
  • Support in project reviews and planning workshops
  • Assist in project baseline study,  evaluation and research
  • Any other activity requested by the supervisor

 RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Edit and submit project reports
  • Field visit and monitoring reports
  • Organize planning and review meetings
  • Track the  progress of  different SRHN unit projects
  • Generate and share survey reports
  • Prepare and submit the reports of the meetings, training, supervision, monitoring  and workshops

Job Requirements

  1. A) EDUCATION

 Required:  BSC  In Public Health/Statistics/demography/evaluation and related fields.

Ability to work in a stressful situation, can multi task, excellent writing skill, team player and problem solver

  1. B) WORK EXPERIENCE: 0-1 Year Maximum
  2. C) TECHNICAL SKILLS

Required:

  • good written and verbal Amharic, English and language skills
  • Good  computer proficiency (i.e. Ms. Word, excel,)
  • Research and presentation skills
  • Understanding of the intervention area context
  • Firm belief in gender equality and sensitivity to vulnerable groups
  • Team player, flexible and ability to work under multi cultural working setting
  • Quick learning ability, communication and strong interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  1. D) COMPETENCIES

Courage, accountability, respect, excellence, planning and organizing, initiating action, innovation, interpersonal skill, stress tolerance.

  1. E) LEVEL OF TRAVEL REQUIRED

This internship position is located in Addis Ababa with frequent travel to project intervention areas.
