The IT Assistant provides IT operations functions to offices for the standard hardware, software, and voice/data network solutions, this includes onsite/remote setup, installation, support, and troubleshooting for computers, printers, and global systems, plus networking, and phone support. IT Assistant also provides software and hardware support to all computer users in the National and Provincial offices and resolves network and computer problems by performing problem diagnoses and guiding users through step-by-step solutions.

This position communicates technical solutions in a user-friendly, professional manner; provides one-on-one end-user training as needed; troubleshoots network and computers and printers’ problems; conducts hardware and software inventory database maintenance and reporting; and performs related work as required. He/she ensures robust security of the office’s local area wired and wireless network and manages the office telephony equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Certificate or Diploma in IT or related field with at least 2-4 years’ experience.

2-4 years of professional experience in Information Technology.

Experience in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, MS Teams)

Excellent knowledge of virtual platforms such as Microsoft Team, Google Meet, WebEx, Zoom, etc.

Familiar with Microsoft Intune environments

Excellent working knowledge and experience in IT Desktop support

Strong judgment and a commitment to fair and ethical procurement practices.

Experienced in a USAID-funded project

Strong numeric skills and attention to detail and quality ability to work in a team-oriented environment while maintaining an individual workload

Logical and flexible approach to solving problems, especially when working under pressure

Monitoring/assessing performance to make improvements or take corrective action
