Rationale/Objective for Position

As part of the infrastructure team, the Infrastructure Administrator plays a key role in strengthening the connection between headquarters and field operations. This position is dedicated to ensuring the effective deployment, operation, and continuous improvement of OCG IT infrastructure solutions, aligning with established standards and project goals. By driving collaboration and innovation, the Systems Administrator supports the design, implementation, maintenance, and evolution of infrastructure while acting as the key technical partner for IT Field Referents, the goal is to ensure field network kits remain operational, secure, and adaptable to the ever-changing needs of field missions

This position will be hierarchically reporting to the Head of IT Operation Services and functionally reporting to the IT Architect and System Expert.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Be familiar with the general infrastructure and the infrastructure dedicated to headquarters in order to support colleagues and better understand the integration of the field infrastructure into this ecosystem.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for field infrastructure systems in order to guarantee secure, stable, and compliant operations.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for IT Field Referents on infrastructure-related matters, ensuring effective coordination and issue resolution.
  • Ensure the deployment, availability, and reliability of field IT infrastructure solutions to support operational continuity and performance in field environments.
  • Implement approved infrastructure standards and technical guidelines to ensure consistency, interoperability, and alignment with organizational architecture.
  • Contribute to the evolution and continuous improvement of field network kits by applying validated technical directives and responding to operational needs.
  • Monitor the operational status and performance of field infrastructure components to anticipate risks, ensure service quality, and support decision-making.
  • Support infrastructure-related projects by participating in design, rollout, and transition phases to ensure successful implementation in field contexts.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field or equivalent professional experience in system and network administration
  • Certifications (Highly Valued):
    • Microsoft certifications (e.g. Azure Administrator, Microsoft 365, Identity and Access Administrator)
    • Fortinet certifications (NSE 4 / FCP or higher)
    • ITIL Foundation or equivalent service management certification

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a System and Network Administrator in enterprise environments
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft and Linux infrastructure environment
  • Solid experience administering Fortinet firewalls and VPN solutions
  • Experience implementing security best practices (MFA, Zero Trust, least privilege)
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation

Languages:

  • Essential: Fully fluent in English C1
  • Desired: Fluent in French B2

  • Salary: An annual salary of EUR 27,145 at HQ Grade 8 based on a full-time appointment with an annual increment of 2% every year up to a maximum of 10 years.

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) was founded in 1971 in France by a group of doctors and journalists in the wake of war and famine in Biafra. Their aim was to establish an independent organisation that focuses on delivering emergency medicine aid quickly, effectively and impartially.

Doctors Without Borders

Three hundred volunteers made up the organisation when it was founded: doctors, nurses and other staff, including the 13 founding doctors and journalists.

MSF was created in the belief that all people should have access to healthcare regardless of gender, race, religion, creed or political affiliation, and that people’s medical needs outweigh respect for national boundaries. MSF’s principles of action are described in our charter, which established a framework for our activities.

MSF's first missions

MSF’s first mission was to the Nicaraguan capital, Managua, in 1972, after an earthquake destroyed most of the city and killed between 10,000 and 30,000 people.

In 1974, MSF set up a relief mission to help the people of Honduras after Hurricane Fifi caused major flooding and killed thousands of people.

In 1975, MSF established its first large-scale medical programme during a refugee crisis, providing medical care for the waves of Cambodians seeking sanctuary from Pol Pot’s oppressive rule.

In these first missions, the weaknesses of MSF as a new humanitarian organisation became readily apparent: preparation was lacking, doctors were left unsupported and supply chains were tangled.
