GIZ- GIZ Green Innovation Centre project is looking a qualified candidate as per the below details.
Position: Junior Monitoring & Evaluation Advisor
Remuneration: As per the GIZ scale

- Responsibilities
- The junior M&E advisor will support the Green Innovation Centre-Ethiopia in tasks related to successful compilation of relevant data on in line with the project’s outputs, outcomes and objectives
- Provide support in results sharing and developing communication materials for the project
Junior Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor performs the following tasks:
- Tasks
- 1. Coordination and monitoring
The junior advisor
- summarize partners monthly, quarterly and half year reports and extract figures and feed in to GIC’s MIS system
- updates information on project progress, documents and report regularly to the MERL component manager
- follow-up compile reports and all-important figures from other components in the project
- develop and share case studies and success stories for innovations promoted by the project
- arrange logistics of meetings, attending and writing minutes
- assists with planning, coordinating and documenting meetings, workshops, seminars and other project activities with a focus on technical aspects
- document and share all processes, training aids, and studies for the program/project planning, implementation and knowledge management
- Research
The junior advisor
- in consultation with the component manager, prepares and carries out qualitative research projects (developing survey instruments, field trials, training field staff, organisational preparation in the field, collecting and analysing data)
- compile and document all research documents and monitoring reports in an organized and structured way
- facilitate logistics and field visits of external M&E mission
- Knowledge management
The junior advisor
- assists in communicating, updating and collecting information on project implementations and best practices
- organizes and updates project/programme documentation (training manuals, trainee details…etc), the filing systems and the project/programme library
- load documents to the GIZ project work space (DMS)

- facilitates team meetings in connection with M&E
- General obligations
The advisor
- is familiar with GIZ planning, implementation and reporting procedures and their changes
- is familiar with other programme components and GIZ-assisted measures, concepts and status of implementation and knows the corresponding experts and staff
- represents the interest of the GIZ-assisted measure and always acts on its behalf
- carries out important tasks for the project/programme, even if these are not explicitly cited in the job description
- Other duties/additional tasks

Job Requirements
Required qualifications, competences and experience
Qualifications and Professional experience
- College or University Degree in Economics, Data Management, Statistics, Computer Science or related field
- 2-3 years professional experience and degree in relevant field, such as agricultural economics, statistics, rural development & agricultural extension, natural resource management, social science, or communication & business management related fields initial experience (internship or similar) in this area
- excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- proven computer skills with all common Microsoft office applications
- professional experience in communicating with government institutions
- experience in monitoring, reporting and verification and/or knowledge about innovation systems & value chain approaches will be an asset
- university degree in an area that is related to value the project/programme objectives
Other knowledge, additional competences
- good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office, Access or other database programme)
- good knowledge of the European language widely used in the country, ideally a knowledge of German
- Knowledge of Oromiffa language is an advantage
- experience of project management and research experience in an area related to the value chain
willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
