About the Job

The purpose of the Livelihood officer is to implement project activities to Building Resilience of the most vulnerable communities in Gambella eleven (11) Districts. The job holder is responsible for Resilient programming implementation in alignment with project model standards and local context. She/he is required to mobilize the community, facilitate target selection and registration. She/he records and keeps all the necessary documents on the operations executed. Moreover, the livelihood officer will actively engaging communities in participatory planning, providing essential technical skills and knowledge, driving the on-the-ground implementation of the project activities, fostering the development of on farm and off farm enterprises, and diligently monitoring progress while collaborating with local stakeholders to ensure the project’s objectives are achieved at the community level.

Job Description

  • Lead the mobilization and engagement of target communities through participatory approaches to ensure their active involvement in planning, implementing, and Resilient interventions
  • Provide hands-on technical support and facilitate capacity-building initiatives for communities and stakeholders on diverse resilient interventions, sustainable agriculture, market system development techniques, financial inclusion, nutrition including the establishment of demonstration sites and knowledge exchange, S4T groups, Producers group, volunteers.
  • Execute field-level project activities according to work plans, monitor progress against targets, identify challenges, and collect relevant data to contribute to effective project implementation and reporting.
  • Identify and support opportunities for resilient focused on farm, rural enterprises and income-generating activities, particularly for women and youth, facilitating linkages to value chains and markets.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with local leaders, community organizations, government partners, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and synergy in project implementation.
  • Collect accurate field data, contribute to regular project reports and documentation of lessons learned, and actively participate in knowledge sharing and adaptive management processes.
About You

Qualification required

  • BSc. Degree in Rural development, Agroeconomics and related fields.

Experience:

  • 5 years’ experience on field level implementation of integrated program including Climate smart Agriculture, resilient rural livelihood, financial inclusion and Market Development in INGOs Context.
  • Working experience in community led Resilient interventions, Economic Development, Nutrition and agriculture, climate smart agriculture and degraded land management.
  • Additional working experience on promotion, advocacy and scale up related activities.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge and/or Key Competencies

  • Run an Effective and Agile Organization
  • Develop the Organization for the Future

Required Language(s)
