Reporting Line
The Logistics Assistant will be under the supervision of the Logistics Assistant in the Field Office or, in her/his absence, of the Head of Field Office.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
· Inventory, stock and warehouse management
· Facility maintenance
· Vehicle fleet management
· Monitor and facilitate repair orders
· Coordinate deliveries for repaired or returned items
· Transporting and receiving goods
· Interact with third party logistics service providers
· Create packing lists and update shipment information in database
· Receive shipments and ensure both quality and quantity
· Ensure that all items are properly numbered and tagged
· Disposal of unserviceable or damaged items
· Review bills, invoices and purchase orders
· Ensure all payments are processed in time
· Trace, track and expedite purchase processes
· Organize files both manually and electronically
· Submit reports to the line managers
· Must be ready to work both indoors and outdoors under extreme conditions. Capacity to load and move heavy equipment as required with adequate tools.
· Working schedule is day shift with flexibility to respond to urgent needs. May be required to work on shift during Friday and/or Saturday as required due to maintenance requirements
· Performs and carries out other tasks and duties as required or requested by her/his line manager
Essential Qualification and Experience:
· Successful completion of secondary school attested by a certificate or the equivalent technical education, in either one of the relevant areas of function (maintenance trades)
AND
· After having fulfilled the education requirements, a minimum of 3 years of professional experience, in Logistics, including Facility maintenance and management
· Driving License B category
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Excellent level of spoken English and Somali is a requirement;
· Has a strong sense of confidentiality and discretion;
· Strong organizational skills that reflect an ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks in an energetic environment with multiple priorities;
· Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity;
· Teamwork oriented;
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
· Facility maintenance experience, working in building/real estate companies/international organisation preferred;
· Knowledge of Inventory/Stock management;

· Good knowledge and experience of Somali and International Customs procedures;
· Basic writing and communication skill;
· Basic computer skills (MS Words and Excel);
· Good knowledge of goods and local market in area of competence;

· Ability to work under stress and willingness to work irregular hours. Ability to work independently and harmoniously with colleagues and as part of a team;
· Works methodically, accurately and with attention to details as well as to tight deadlines;

· Driving License C category (C = vehicle above 3,5 tons);
