Position Summary

AMIDEAST seeks a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist to support its program work throughout the Middle East and North Africa. This position is based in the MENA region, with the specific location to be determined based on the selected candidate’s country of residence. Selected country/location of this position will be an AMIDEAST office in the MENA region.

Responsibilities

  • Develop M&E approach for AMIDEAST aligned with its mission, goals, program areas, and populations served
  • Design, develop, and improve monitoring and evaluation methodologies and tools (including digital tools) for AMIDEAST programs, addressing program-specific objectives as well as over-arching priorities such as diversity/equity/inclusion
  • Coordinate and oversee data collection, strengthen data collection systems, and ensure data quality; develop strategies to improve survey response rates as needed
  • Lead quantitative and qualitative data analysis
  • Develop and implement impact evaluations
  • Draft relevant M&E sections of program reports, using appropriate templates and adhering to funder requirements
  • Develop content and materials that communicate M&E findings, promote awareness, and highlight program impact with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide support in managing information and preparing M&E documentation for donors
  • Contribute to proposal development, including providing data and analysis as needed and developing M&E sections of proposals
  • Promote knowledge sharing of M&E best practices and lessons learned
  • Integrate M&E awareness, knowledge, and skills in staff professional development

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or the equivalent in a relevant field such as statistics, public policy, international development, economics, etc.
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in a monitoring and evaluation position responsible for implementing M&E activities in international development or international education field, including impact evaluations
  • Experience with M&E for USAID- and/or other donor-funded programs preferred, including designing/implementing M&E strategies in line with USAID gender and youth policies
  • Proven success in designing and implementing M&E systems and plans, including both qualitative and quantitative approaches
  • Demonstrated understanding of M&E best practices, principles, and tools
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills (including statistical methods) and the ability to summarize data, interpret results, and effectively present information to program staff, partners and donors
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer software packages used in M&E, such as SPSS, STATA, SAS, Access, and Excel
  • Ability to process and transfer data into easily readable and concise formats and graphics for reports and presentations
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and Arabic
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work productively on teams
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to travel within the MENA region
