Project Overview and Role

Palladium develops and delivers innovative, locally relevant, evidence-based solutions to improve the health and well-being of people around the world. Since 1971, we have assisted governmental and non-governmental agencies, foundations, and the private sector by designing, implementing, and evaluating programs in HIV/AIDS, sexual and reproductive health, population and family planning, maternal and child health, infectious diseases, and gender. Palladium has deep expertise in policy and advocacy, research and strategic information, health markets and private sector engagement, modelling and economic analysis, patient monitoring and management/HMIS, strategic consulting, and program management.

Purpose of Role

Palladium is the M&E partner under Catholic Relief Services (CRS) on Sustainable Outcomes for Children and Youth in Central and Western Uganda (SOCY). The project is working towards improving the health, nutrition, education and psychosocial wellbeing of vulnerable populations, as well as reducing abuse, exploitation and neglect to a minimum of 625,000 children and 101,500 households in 17 districts in central and western Uganda. Palladium works in all three regions of the project: Central, South West and Western.

Palladium is looking for qualified candidates to temporally work as Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistants to support the implementation of the pre-graduation assessment that will be conducted in the SOCY districts of operation. The M&E Assistants will supervise a team of research assistants/enumerators in the districts.

The M&E Assistants will report to the respective regional M&E Specialists. Each M&E Assistant will support up to two (2) districts.

Project Duration

Two (2) months with possibility of extension

Responsibilities

  • Managing field logistics and overseeing the data collection team
  • Participate in the review of the data collection tools
  • Participate in a training for M&E assistants and training of the enumerators
  • Ensuring data is collected in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensuring that there is timely remote upload of data into the central server
  • Working closely with district level partners to analyze and interpret district and regional level data
  • Facilitating the debrief and review meetings
  • Keeping the regional M&E specialist abreast of the progress in the data collect process in each of the districts
  • Any other duty as may be assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

Applicants must possess a University Degree in Statistics, Demography, Economics, Population Studies and Social Sciences or related field, a post graduate qualification in Monitoring and Evaluation will be an added advantage; at least three years or M&E or related field related experience. He/she should be knowledgeable and competent in Monitoring and Evaluation of HIV/AIDS-related programmes with an emphasis on OVC programs, data analysis and reporting systems, Project Planning and Management. Experience in using mobile devices for data collection is an added advantage.
