About WISH 2 Programme

The UK aid funded Women’s Integrated Sexual Health 2 (WISH 2) programme will support women and adolescents, including the poor and most marginalised, to have greater voice, choice and control over their sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).

The programme is divided into two Lots, with WISH 2 Lot 1 covering Western and Central Africa and WISH 2 Lot 2 covering Eastern and Southern Africa. Options is a sub-partner in both consortia.

The WISH programme has two primary outcomes:

  • Outcome 1: Women and adolescents, including the poor and most marginalised, have greater voice, choice and control over their sexual and reproductive health and rights.
  • Outcome 2: An improved enabling environment for SRHR and gender equality as part of an accelerated, African-led inclusive demographic transition.

Options will support implementation of Output 3: SRHR policy and systems environment. This output will support countries to adopt and implement improved frameworks for more comprehensive SRHR and gender equality, effective government financing, commodity security and SRHR service capacity.

A specific focus will be placed on supporting civil society organisations, including OPDs, youth led and WROs to advocate, improve accountability and support improvement in SRHR.

Position

The Regional Lead will;

  • Provide technical and strategic leadership to the programme to ensure the programme delivers high quality results, is delivered on time and to budget, meets client expectations as set out in log frame targets and payment deliverables, and will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Options’ Lot 1 programme team.
  • Provide stewardship of Options’ technical approach within the WISH 2 Lot 1 consortium, weaving together accountability, health financing, policy and planning and quality improvement initiatives to deliver measurable results.
  • Line manage and oversee Options’ WISH 2 Lot 1 regional staff and Country Leads, ensuring quality implementation.

Requirements

  • At least ten years’ work experience, with significant experience in the provision of technical assistance, including remote support across multiple countries.
  • Solid understanding of the health sector in one or more of the WISH 2 Lot 1 countries, including the relationship between national and sub-national levels, and country ownership approaches.
  • Strong technical skills in at least one of Options’ core technical areas, e.g. health financing, improving quality improvement by governments at national and sub-national level or building strong multi-stakeholder accountability mechanisms at national level.
  • Considerable experience in leading the delivery of donor-funded programmes, particularly those funded by FCDO.
  • Work experience and knowledge of priority SRH/FP issues facing women and girls in the WISH programme countries / contexts.
  • Track record of leadership that demonstrates integrity and transparency.
