Bright Path Early Intervention and Educational Support is seeking qualified, experienced, compassionate, and dedicated professionals to join our team and provide high-quality, individualized, and inclusive educational support to children with special educational needs and developmental challenges

The successful candidate will be expected to provide professional services and coordinate responsibilities across both the Bulgaria and Gemo sites.

Bright Path Early Intervention and Educational Support is looking for compassionate, responsible, and dedicated One-to-One Assistants to provide individualized educational, behavioral, developmental, and daily support to children with special educational needs.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Special Needs Education, Education, or another relevant field.
• At least one year of professional experience working with children with special educational needs and/or developmental challenges.
• Practical understanding of child development, learning, behavior, and individualized support.
• Ability to work effectively with children who may have different learning, communication, behavioral, sensory, or developmental needs.
• Ability to follow and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and intervention strategies under the guidance of the Special Needs Coordinator, Case Manager, therapists, and teaching team.
• Ability to support children in classroom activities, learning tasks, communication, social interaction, and daily routines.
• Ability to observe children’s behavior and progress and maintain accurate daily records and reports.
• Willingness to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents, Case Managers, and other professionals.
• Ability to receive and apply professional guidance, coaching, and feedback.
• Good communication, interpersonal, observation, and teamwork skills.
• Patience, empathy, emotional maturity, and a child-centered approach.
• Strong sense of responsibility, professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.
• Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
• Commitment to inclusive education, child protection, safety, and the individual development of every child.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
• Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Previous experience supporting children with autism, developmental delays, communication difficulties, learning difficulties, or other special educational needs will be an advantage.

  Key Responsibilities

The One-to-One Assistant will:

• Provide individualized support based on each child’s needs and educational plan.
• Assist the child to participate meaningfully in classroom and school activities.
• Support communication, social interaction, learning, and appropriate behavior.
• Implement strategies recommended by the Special Needs Department and therapists
• Monitor and document the child’s daily progress, behavior, participation, and areas of concern.
• Promote the child’s independence rather than creating unnecessary dependence.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive, and supportive environment.
• Communicate professionally with teachers, therapists, parents, and other members of the support team.
• Attend scheduled training, supervision, meetings, and professional development activities.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding children’s personal, educational, and developmental information.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Master’s degree in special Needs Education, Psychology, Education, or another relevant field.
• Professional experience working with children aged 3 to 14 years.
• At least three years of professional experience working with children with special educational needs and developmental challenges.
• Strong theoretical knowledge and practical experience in assessment, observation, and data collection.
• Demonstrated ability to design, implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Experience in speech and language therapy and intervention will be an advantage.
• Ability to coordinate, supervise, and manage a team of One-to-One Assistants
• Strong leadership, coordination, and staff-management skills
• Ability to assess staff performance and provide constructive feedback, coaching, and professional support.
• Experience providing training, coaching, mentoring, and supervision to One-to-One Assistants and educational staff
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with children, parents, teachers, Case Managers, Department Heads, therapists, and other professionals.
• Experience conducting Parent–Teacher Conferences and parent-training programs.
• Knowledge and experience in conducting action research and applying research findings to improve service quality.
• Ability to prepare professional reports and maintain accurate and confidential documentation.
• Strong organizational, observation, problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility and willingness to collaborate effectively with colleagues across different departments.
• Strong commitment to inclusive education, child-centered learning, and continuous professional development.
• Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities across both the Bulgaria and Gemo sites.
• Willingness and ability to travel between the two Academy sites as required.
• Excellent professional ethics, patience, compassion, and a strong commitment to children’s development, safety, and well-being.
• Previous experience working within a multidisciplinary team will be an advantage.
