We are seeking an Organizational Capacity Development Specialist for an anticipated FY 2024 USAID Regional Resilience Activity for Sahel Region covering Burkina Faso, Chad & Mauritania that will seek to expand resilience in the Sahel, improving the ability of individuals, households and communities to mitigate, adapt to, and recover from perennial shocks and stresses. This activity is a 5-year program with a budget estimated at $200 million. If awarded to World Vision, project is anticipated to start in January 2025.

As the Organizational Capacity Development Specialist/Manager, you will provide technical direction and oversight to the capacity development component the Leader Award and Associate Awards to build the capacity of local partners including working within Associate Awards to spearhead the development of organizational capacity strategies and develop an overarching strategy for capacity-building efforts under the Leader Award and Associate Awards.

This key position is contingent upon funding and donor approval. National and international candidates are encouraged to apply. This position will be based in Dakar, Senegal.

Requirements include:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in development studies, international relations, social science, business administration, or related field and 8 years of relevant experience in organizational capacity building, localization, civil society, community development, or other related experiences
  • Demonstrated experience in managing or implementing capacity strengthening programs or activities within a developing country setting to increase the capacity of individuals and organizations (technical and organizational capacity strengthening.
  • Substantial experience designing and delivering institutional capacity building in low- or middle-income countries including development of training design, curricula, and related materials.
  • Previous experience with large USAID grants including Leader with Associate Awards (LWA)
  • Must be fluent in English and French.
  • Ability to travel to implementation sites and regional, global meetings as required.
  • Ability to travel to the United States WVUS Washington, DC Office to meet with donors and other stakeholders as needed.
