Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) is a global humanitarian and development faith-based organisation. We work with around 150 local civil society partners in more than 20 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin-America to save lives and seek lasting solutions to poverty and injustice. As part of our strategic commitment to locally led development and equitable partnerships, NCA is strengthening its support for partner organisational development across regions.

We are seeking a Partnerships and Organisational Development Global Advisor to be based in Nairobi and serve as a global resource across all NCA country programmes.

NCA’s country offices lead the direct engagement with partners. This role complements that responsibility by strengthening country offices through practical tools, facilitation, coaching and advisory support. The aim is to help partners strengthen their organisations and to advance NCA’s work on strategic, equitable and effective partnerships.

The position combines direct support to country offices with global levels responsibility for cross-country learning, systems and tools related to partnerships and organisational development.

Key Responsibilities

Support to country offices on partner organisational development

  • Strengthen country teams’ capacity to facilitate partner led organisational development processes.
  • Advise country office staff, management and, when relevant, partner leadership.

Equitable partnerships and partner feedback (global responsibility)

  • Oversee progress on NCA’s Equitable Partnership Indicators.
  • Manage the NCA’s annual global partner survey, including design, implementation, analysis and follow up.
  • Facilitate workshops, learning processes and develop tools on organisational development, partnership practices and NCA’s role as facilitator and connector.

Networks and resources

  • Build networks and facilitate peer learning across country offices.
  • Establish and manage consultant framework agreements to support partner processes.
  • Manage financial support for partners’ organisational development initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

Required

  • Relevant higher education.
  • Minimum 5 years experience working strategically with organisational development related to leadership, culture, team dynamics, and structural change.
  • Proven facilitation and coaching experience both digitally and in person.
  • Extensive experience from working with civil society organisations in the Global South.
  • Experience in working across different countries and cultures
  • Excellent English language skills.

Desirable

  • French language skills is a strong asset
  • Leadership experience.
  • Experience with faith-based organisations and actors.
  • Experience with surveys or other feedback mechanisms.
  • Other relevant languages.

Personal Qualities

  • Engaging facilitator with the ability to create trust and ownership.
  • Collaborative and supportive, with respect for country offices’ and partners’ priorities, roles and responsibilities.
  • Relationship-builder with strong cultural sensitivity.
  • Structured and able to translate insight into practical action.

  • The salary range for this position is from KES 6,6 million to KES 7,3 million annually.
  • A two year project position with possibility of extension.

Eligibility: Existing working visa in East African Community (EAC) member countries are required.
