Nearly one third of all households in Uganda experience financial difficulties every year due to high medical costs. The vision of the Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB), a network of Protestant health facilities, is to improve the lives of a large part of the population in Uganda through quality health services.
You are located in Kampala, Uganda
Job Scope
You will support UPMB in digitalisation to enable the further development of health insurance offerings and the strengthening of alternative health financing options.
In more detail, you would be responsible for the following:
- Advice on setting up a cost-effective, sustainable digital network system with mobile application programmes
- Capacity building of UPMB staff to maintain the digital network system
- Evaluation of the existing community-based health insurance models and functioning of the existing contracts between health facilities and the health insurance groups
- Improvement of the evaluation tools of the health insurance groups and support for the adaptation of the insurance schemes
- Development of new and affordable health insurance models
- Participation in the establishment of a nationwide network of all health insurance groups and data storage system to improve information processing and support
Profile
- You have a task-related university degree (Master’s level, e.g. public health, social science, business informatics) with relevant further training and at least two years of relevant professional experience
- You can adapt the communication of your very good application-oriented knowledge of digitalisation to different needs
- Your enjoyment of flexible and solution-oriented cooperation in a team and your business fluent English qualify you to accompany participatory change processes in an intercultural context
Citizenship of a Member State of the European Union or Switzerland is required.
