About the role

This position reports directly to the Country Manager and is based in Dakar. It consists of project management and requires strong communication and coordination skills in order to best meet all the requirements and satisfy all the parties involved in each project. Your role will consist of the management and implementation of existing and future projects, in close collaboration with Viamo’s Design & Implementation (D&I) team, with the aim of delighting Viamo’s partners in Senegal. You will also assist the Country Manager in the launch of Viamo’s flagship service (3-2-1) scheduled for early 2021, as well as in making Viamo’s services known to all development organizations present in Senegal. Finally, you will be Viamo’s program lead on the Dekkal Geej project, funded by USAID and implemented by Winrock, with support on digital interventions from Viamo.
Key Responsibilities

  • Work in close collaboration with the Country Manager to ensure adequate and effective project management (setting programmatic objectives to be achieved, timelines, etc.) to delight our partners with quality and timely deliverables. This includes coordinating Viamo’s interventions within the USAID-funded Dekkal Geej project, in accordance with the proposed digital intervention strategy and the priorities set by the prime implementing partner.
  • Work in close collaboration with Viamo’s Design and Implementation (D&I) team to ensure the technical implementation of Viamo’s interventions within projects carried out with partners.
  • Manage relations with local mobile operators in order to develop and ensure an optimal relationship with them and thus obtain and maintain the necessary and adequate infrastructure for the deployment of Viamo’s technology and the specific needs of all projects.
  • Attend project coordination meetings when necessary and relevant for the successful implementation of Viamo’s interventions.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, as needed.
  • Facilitate content creation workshops with partner organisations.
  • Contribute to the launch of the 3-2-1 service in Senegal and then manage the 3-2-1 service:
    • Facilitate content creation workshops with partner organizations and key stakeholders, including relevant government agencies.
    • Oversee the translation and registration and assist in pre-testing of new content.
    • Test the platform, monitor statistics.
    • Produce monthly data analysis.
  • Support the Country Manager with representation at local events regarding the use of mobile technology.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Impact: number of unique listeners and engagements
  • Execution of program deliverables according to the contract / work plan
  • Revenue: project invoicing according to the schedule set out in the contract
  • Partner satisfaction, measured by feedback and NPS score post-project

Profile

Required

  • Experience living and working in Senegal
  • Minimum Bac +4 and more than 4 years experience in any combination of: social enterprise, INGO, mobile network operator, ICT4D, project management.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and proven experience in co-developing ideas with partners and strong workshop facilitation skills.
  • Experience in project management: implementation, narrative and financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and proficiency in English.
  • Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent soft skills. Ability to challenge work done and seek to learn from mistakes, receive & integrate feedback.
  • Capacity to adapt and work in a team.
  • Demonstrated self-management and entrepreneurial skills.

Desirable

  • Senegalese nationality
  • Experience in the field of social and behaviour change communication would be an asset.
  • USAID project management experience desirable; experience in managing multi-sectoral projects would be a plus
