Job Description
Seefar is seeking a skilled Programme Coordinator (PC) with complete fluency in English and either Hausa or Yoruba, for 3 years to support the implementation of a mutually beneficial and sustainable partnership between Nigeria and Ireland/Germany to foster Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) talent development and mobility. The PC will have thematic knowledge, and a strong interest in labour migration, recruitment, education and livelihoods; enjoy working in a high performing team from multiple countries; and focus on getting results. The role requires someone with at least 5 years professional experience in coordinating teams and implementing projects, who is smart, intrinsically motivated, worldly, interested in hard challenges and is highly flexible and efficient.
This is a full time position, with an estimated start date of 9th December, 2024. The fee range for this position is EUR 1750-2000 monthly, depending on experience
Responsibilities
Approximately 90% of your time and attention:
1. Beneficiary Recruitment and Placement
- Assist the Programme Manager with the recruitment process to shortlist skilled Nigerian candidates with qualifications matching job requirements identified by European employers.
- Assist with the screening and interviewing process to select candidates for migration.
- Coordinate with the development and implementation of pre-departure processes to ensure a smooth transition for migrants, maximising placement success.
2. Support for Migrants and Returners
- Assist the Programme Manager with the development and management of a support system for migrants once placed in Europe, addressing potential challenges and promoting long-term integration (if desired).
- Assist with the development and management of a reintegration program for returning Nigerian migrants facilitating their successful re-entry into the Nigerian workforce.
3. Capacity Building and Knowledge Sharing:
- Oversee the delivery of career guidance workshops for Nigerians in STEM fields, empowering and educating them for future migration opportunities.
- Manage the training program for a pilot cohort of facilitators, equipping them with foundational knowledge on skilled migration to Europe.
- Oversee the development of online training modules based on the programme’s learnings.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to adapt the programme model for potential future implementation in these countries.
4. Institutional Strengthening and Advocacy
- Assist with the facilitation of workshops and communication activities that benefit Nigerian, German, and Irish institutions who are currently managing skilled recruitment and labour migration.
5. Programme Management and Reporting
- Support the recruitment, training, supervising and developing of field teams in Nigeria.
- Fulfil Project Coordinator tasks, in line with internal project systems, financial and budgeting tools and processes.
- Support the Programme Manager with project development and reporting.
- Support field teams, as needed
- Support the Programme Manager with administrative tasks, as needed
- Ensure understanding of donor needs and ensure all actions are in line with them, meeting and exceeding expectations where possible.

An excellent candidate
To excel in this role, you will have the following experience and capacities:
- Five years of professional project and personnel management experience;
- You have complete fluency in written and spoken English and either Hausa or Yoruba.
- You have an undergraduate degree;
- You are highly organised, communicate regularly and effectively, have the ability to prioritise and are highly productive;
- You are naturally responsive, while also able to work autonomously;
- You can travel throughout Nigeria on a short notice.
