WIETA drives a pro-active world-class and sustainable ethical trade programme for the South African wine industry and aligned sectors. They are also a globally recognised ethical auditing body registered with the Global Social Compliance Programme (GSCP).
Key performance areas:
- the development, implementation and reporting of the ethical standards and certification processes;
- providing oversight over the auditing function, calibration and quality
- Managing the labour support desk and advisory function
Be responsible for the development, review, revision and standards setting of the WIETA Ethical Standards and Code of the organisation through the review of local and international legislation, standards and benchmarks
- Review and Oversee the social auditing methodology, process, calibration, quality management and oversight of independent auditing service providers and auditors to ensure full compliance with the WIETA Standards, Code, guidelines and internal policies and procedures.
- Manage and provide technical training and legal advice and support of producers, members, farmworkers and auditing service providers to the audit process leading up to the certification and accreditation of members.
- Provide oversight to the review and moderation of external audit report and improvement plans by audit companies to ensure quality, calibration and consistency in reporting and Code standards (400 audits per year)

- Facilitate and record the decisions of a multi-stakeholder audit committee
- Develop and Facilitate Compliance Training via zoom and in person
- Facilitate ongoing discussions / workshops with auditors on the standard and WIETA Code implementation
- Analyse and report on the audit data for various purposes, including writing a regular comprehensive publication on the findings of the audit programme as a whole.
- Research and communicate all relevant case law and legislative changes pertaining to the Code

- Responsible for programme managing certain small capacity building & training projects, external project funding
CURRENT QUALIFICATION REQUIRED
- Must be a graduate
- Minimum qualification – BArts/social sciences , B COM or LLB with a focus on labour law, HR or Industrial sociology/psychology
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety
SKILLS BASE
- 4 to 5 years experience
- Fully bilingual in Afrikaans & English is a critical requirement
- Agricultural Sector knowledge / understanding

- Well versed in Zoom / Teams training & presentations
- Statistical skills i.e. well versed in graphic representation of statistics / graphs
