Reporting to: Program Director (1st supervisor) and Country Representative (2nd supervisor)

Aim of the position:

Support the realization of a feasibility study for sustainable agriculture and land management.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Management and coordination of project activities including;
  • Planning and coordinate logistical arrangements for the field work of project and consultancy teams;
  • Coordination and lead national and international staff;
  • Support in the supervision and verification of administrative and procurement procedures;
  • Coordination of activities with respect to the schedule defined by the chronogram;
  • Drafting, revision and updating of technical documents such as: ToR, Financing Proposals, General Operational Plans etc.;
  • Development of relations with local partners and stakeholders involved in the project (institutions, donor, local authorities and communities);
  • Preparation of expected deliverables, and narrative and accounting reports of the project to the donor and competent authorities;
  • Support for verifying the correctness of the administrative reporting of project expenses;
  • Coordination of monitoring activities.

Essential Requirements

Education: Master’s degree in Agricultural Science, Environmental science, Economics, or related fields.

Work Experience:
• Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated relevant professional experience in the sustainable land management, agriculture, forest management or related fields, business development, of which at least 5 as project manager;
• Knowledge of carbon markets, policy and finance.

Language Proficiency: Knowledge of Portuguese and English.

Required skills and experiences

  • Previous work experience in the international cooperation sector in Africa or Mozambique;
  • Previous experience in Mozambique will be considered an advantage;
  • Capacity to lead a disperse and multisectoral team of high level specialists;
  • Ability to articulate and coordinate effectively with the government, local and international NGOs, and other actors;
  • Computer skills: Excellent knowledge of the main Office IT tools, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
  • Knowledge of GIS is an advantage.
