Anova seeks to appoint a Project Manager, based in Johannesburg.
The Project Manager will lead a small but highly professional team, supported by the Programme Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for managing a comprehensive package of services for PWID at both fixed sites and utilising a mobile unit. Services include an extensive needle and syringe dissemination programme, HIV and STI testing and treatment, and distributing topical information to PWIDs and their partners, initially in the Yeoville / Hillbrow area. All work will be undertaken in partnership with the Department of Health and local community groups. The incumbent will have prior experience in project management, ideally focusing on the needs of PWIDs.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake detailed operational planning, supported by the Programme Manager, including developing and monitoring the implementation of work plans, and budget management
- Manage a small team of nurses and support staff
- Establish, maintain, and expand links with relevant role players (local authorities, CSOs, communities) to strengthen implementation, and represent the project in appropriate meetings
- Track deliverables in consultation with Anova’s M&E team, and ensure deadline compliance
- Compile diverse reports
Requirements:
- A relevant degree such as nursing or social work, or project management
- Minimum five years’ experience in project management, managing a team of at least five people
- Demonstrated skills and experience in prevention, care, and treatment interventions in the context of HIV/AIDS, according to 90-90-90 guidelines
- A comfort level in working with this highly stigmatised key population
- A valid driver’s license and own vehicle
- Be flexible and willing to travel extensively, possibly at short notice
- Have computer Literate on Ms Office packages
- Be proactive and great interpersonal skills
- Communication skills
- Be analytical and detail focused
