JOB SUMMARY:

Join Our Team as a Project Manager for the South Sudan Women Economic Empowerment Project!

Are you passionate about empowering women and driving economic change? CARE South Sudan is looking for a dynamic and talented Project Manager to lead the South Sudan Women Economic Empowerment Project (SSWEEP) Component 2. This project, funded by the World Bank and managed by UNWomen, aims to create and strengthen women-led Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs) in Eastern Equatoria and Western Bahr el Gahzal states. Mature VSLAs will be provided with productive assets to start and implement income-generating activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Implementation and Management:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and adaptation of project activities.
  • Ensure efficient implementation in line with donor guidelines and CARE standards.
  • Coordinate with partners and manage financial resources.
  • Optimize office and resource management.
  • Identify and mitigate project-related risks.

Reporting, MEAL, and Information Management:

  • Align Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) activities with strategic goals.
  • Draft donor reports and ensure quality documentation.
  • Maintain accurate project records.

Team Management and Safeguarding:

  • Lead and coordinate project staff, ensuring compliance with policies.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and capacity building.
  • Implement safeguarding measures and conduct local assessments.
  • Develop training plans and professional development opportunities.

Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build strong relationships with government authorities, donors, and community leaders.
  • Engage in humanitarian coordination mechanisms and advocacy efforts.
  • Provide technical support to local implementing partners.

Strengthen CARE South Sudan’s VSLA Programme:

  • Provide strategic leadership and serve as a technical resource.
  • Coordinate research, impact assessments, and learning events.
  • Identify and coordinate short-term technical assistance.

Development of CARE’s Presence in South Sudan:

  • Represent CARE in sectoral clusters and working groups.
  • Conduct needs assessments and contribute to long-term strategy.
  • Support donor engagement and promote new funding opportunities.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Economics, Development Studies, Business Administration). Master’s degree preferred
