Aim of the position: Manage AVSI’s Education program ensuring reaching targets, full liquidation and high quality of implementation.

Main tasks and responsibilities

1. Planning and managing the program’s resources
• Designing overall, quarterly, and monthly activity plans, directing their execution, and suggesting updates and modifications as necessary,
• Budget management, including amendments and extensions.
• Implement the Donor’s and AVSI administrative and financial procedures correctly, ensuring compliance with AVSI operation’s support.
• Assisting project staff and partners with the implementation and resolution of activities.
• Participate in strategic planning, project proposal writing, and assessments.
• Assisting in the recruitment of needed personnel.
• Participate in the human resource planning and evaluation system.

2. Reporting
• Responsible of interim and final narrative and financial reports.
• Providing regular reporting to Programs and Operations as well as to the C.R..

3. Monitoring and quality
• Monitoring the implementation of work plans, through regular visits to project sites
• Implementation of the Program’s monitoring system
• Contribute to the overall process of coordination, harmonisation and learning and sharing process of AVSI Education department;

4. Coordination
• Support AVSI to maintaining and developing the relationship with the Donors.
• Coordination with local stakeholders, national and international NGOs, working in the sector, developing synergies and new partnerships. Coordinate with the EDU and CP sectors.
• Participate in the LH and general management meetings.

Essential Requirements

• Master degree in Education, Social sciences, International cooperation or related fields.
• 5 years of experience; management of at least 1 million-dollar projects.

Required skills and experiences

• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong team management skills.
• Advanced understanding of DRC context.
