Here’s where you come in:

As the Regional Leader, you will direct regional operations, provide leadership to National Directors, and ensure effective management of ministry in alignment with World Vision’s Vision, Mission, Core Values, and global strategic directions. This role encompasses strategy management, people management, financial resource management, risk management, and board and partnership engagement.

Requirements include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership (25%): Lead the implementation of the Partnership Strategy, Our Promise, and ensure alignment with WV Vision, Goals, Mission, and Core Values.
  • Accountability & Stewardship (15%): Ensure alignment to global strategy and monitor the quality of ministry across the region.
  • Organizational Culture (10%): Promote World Vision’s Christian ethos and values, and support the spiritual development of staff.
  • Leadership Development (25%): Oversee recruitment, orientation, development, and performance management of National Directors.
  • Board Engagement (20%): Support National Directors in the development and functioning of Advisory Councils and Boards.
  • Minimum of ten years’ experience in strategic leadership within the humanitarian industry, with at least three years in senior leadership in Africa.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven ability to work and lead successfully in conflict and post-conflict contexts.
  • Experience managing a multi-cultural leadership team.
  • Successful track record of coaching and mentoring executive-level leaders.
  • Ability to travel frequently both regionally and internationally (up to 40%).
  • Self-Managing Capabilities: Represent World Vision as a Christian organization, monitor staff well-being, and model kingdom values.
  • Relational Capabilities: Inspire high team performance, build diverse teams, and promote justice.
  • Achieving Capabilities: Set high standards, inspire trust, and ensure clear communication.
  • Thinking Capabilities: Identify critical issues, lead effective planning, and maintain industry knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of ten years’ experience in strategic leadership within the humanitarian industry, with at least three years in senior leadership in Africa.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven ability to work and lead successfully in conflict and post-conflict contexts.
  • Experience managing a multi-cultural leadership team.
  • Successful track record of coaching and mentoring executive-level leaders.
  • Ability to travel frequently both regionally and internationally (up to 40%).
