Purpose of the position:

To ensure core security requirements are adhered, security systems are implemented and communicated for smooth articulation of organizational operations.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Strategy & Planning
  • Develop and implement the National Office strategy in alignment with the WV security policy so as to ensure the operational of the National Office are appropriately supported.
  • Ensure security risk assessments, Country Risk Ratings and Core Security Requirement standards, processes and procedures are completed in accordance with current Office of Corporate security guidelines and training
  • Provide leadership/management of the security team in the country
  1. Security Operations
  • Work with deputy National Director and Regional Security Director to carry out Security Risk Assessments as required/directed.
  • Country Risk Ratings are established and updated as required
  • Ensure Core Security Requirements are implemented in crisis situations and critical incidents.
  • Conduct security investigation when required.
  1. Networking and External Liaison/Engagement
  • Represent WV at local NGO security network meetings and ensure information from these groups is dissemination to relevant staff
  • Build on going networks for sharing information and coordination
  1. Capacity Building
  • Coordinate the assessment, development and implementation of the national office capacity building plan for security management based on local security assessment
  • Seek to develop a culture of security awareness and monitor staff compliance
  1. Reporting and Documentation
  • Provide regular security report to the National office, Region and office of Corporate Security
  • Ensure that all security incidents are reported in accordance with WV security policy
  • Conduct performance reviews of the field-security focal persons
  • Collect, analyze and disseminate security information appropriately

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

  • Minimum Qualification required: Degree in the related field
  • Experience: At least 3 years’ in proven security or emergency service field (public, private, and government or NGO sectors in military, security or law enforcement services) supervisory/managerial role in military/security.
  • Preferred:
  • Technical Skills & Abilities

-Demonstrate experience in designing and delivering training

-Computer literate (Word, Excel, Power Point)

-First Aid qualified

  • Demonstrate personal values, attitudes and behaviors that are consistent with World Vision Core values.

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field
  • Travel: 20% Domestic International travel is required.
  • On call: 40%
