Management Sciences for Health (MSH) is seeking a Security Manager for a recently-awarded 5-year USAID supply chain and pharmaceutical management project in Ethiopia. The purpose is to provide comprehensive technical assistance to strengthen the health supply chain and pharmaceutical services in select geographic areas in Ethiopia, both of which are cornerstones to achieve critical life-saving priorities.

About the Role
The S ecurity Manager will work in close collaboration with the P roject D irectors and staff to ensure staff and propert y are safe. The Security Manager will direct the implementation and monitoring of an effective strategy to mitigate risk, maintain continuity of operations , and provide for the safety and security of all employees. They will be responsible for implementing policies and standards affecting safety and security of staff members, facilities and assets, and program activities . The Security Manager will ensure security protocols and mechanisms are in place to address country programs’ unique security challenges. They will provide technical support in developing and maintaining country programs’ context-specific field security plans.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Master ‘s degree in International Relations , International Development, Criminal Justice, Security Administration or related area
Experience:
- Minimum of 9 years implementing security programs and a strong knowledge of security management in complex environments
- Some familiarity with USAID and other donor agencies policies and procedures
- Experience using relevant technology and equipment
- Experience working in conflict and post-conflict settings
- Comprehensive understanding of security issues in Ethiopia
- Demonstrated understanding of complex emergencies, related security concerns and appropriate responses to such emergencies
- Experience in reporting and emergency response planning ebwewpY BTn6yA
- Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
- Strong w orking knowledge of MS Office
- Exceptional communication skills for explaining complex security concerns, policies, protocols, and procedures to senior management, employees, consultants, volunteers and consistently apply them at all levels
- Written and spoken fluency in English and local language desired
- Willingness to travel to post-conflict and high-risk environments as required
