The opportunity

  • Design and development of SBCC strategy and gender, age and disability inclusive communication materials in support of SBCC strategy and program work plans
  • Develop distribution plan of SBCC materials
  • Document the impact of SBCC communication campaigns
  • Collaborate with Project partners, technical and program team to initiate and ensure successful implementation of SBCC interventions
  • Identify with other technical staff and counterpart’s lessons learned and potential best practices related to SBCC activities, participate in the documentation and dissemination of best practices
  • Support Project team to implement community score card (CSC) methodology
  • Facilitate Health Workers, Community Health Volunteers, Champion of Change Clubs and other community stakeholders to implement interpersonal communication activities to address barriers, harmful social and gender norms that hinder individuals from accessing SRHR quality services and economic empowerment opportunities
  • Collaborate with the MERL Advisor in designing SBCC MERL Plan, including data collection tools

About You

  • Degree in relevant field: Mass Communication, Journalism, Advocacy, Social Sciences and/or another related field.
  • Minimum 03 years of relevant professional experience
  • Ability to build the capacity of staff and partners to deliver quality SBCC activities
  • Good networking and alliance building skills
  • Good command of Portuguese and English
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing SBCC strategies
  • Proven capacity to develop Communication Plans, including M&E components
  • Proven ability to use social media and other communication channels to disseminate and track BCC messages
  • Experience in facilitating and supporting women and girls at community level especially in the health sector
  • Proven skills and experience in working with local leaders, Community Health Workers and Community Health volunteers in promotion of women, girls, youth and children rights
  • Proven experience and skills in report writing

Grade: 13 ((Pay range 1.085.793,96 MT a 1.221.518,16 MT annual gross) Plan reserves the right to pay according to internal procedures

Plan International is an international organisation or development which works in 51 countries across Africa, the Americas, and Asia to promote the safeguarding of children.It is a nonprofit organisation and is one of the world's largest organisations based on children, it works in 58,000 communities with the help of volunteers to improve how 56 million children live. The charity also has 21 national organisations who have been given the responsibility to oversee the raising of funds and awareness in their individual countries.

The organisation puts an emphasis on communities working together in order to address the needs of children around the world. The NGO focuses on child participation, education, economic security, emergencies, health, protection, sexual health (including HIV), and water and sanitation. It provides training in disaster preparedness, response and recovery, and has worked on relief efforts in countries including Haiti, Colombia and Japan.

Plan International also sponsors the Because I Am a Girl campaign, which has published many stories focusing on the struggle of young women in the developing world.

Plan International was founded during the Spanish Civil War by British journalist John Langdon-Davies and aid worker Eric Muggeridge. When they witnessed the conflict change the lives of children, they founded ‘Foster Parents Plan for Children in Spain’, which would later change its name to Plan International. Set up in 1937, the organisation provided food, shelter and clothing to children whose lives had been destroyed by the war.
