ABOUT THE MISSION

The Program Deputy Field Coordinator (P-DFC) is in charge of supervising the implementation of programs in West Darfur. In line with both SI annual country strategy and the evolution of the humanitarian needs in the area that s/he closely monitor, the P-DFC will support adapting/defining the strategy, designing and implementing new projects. She/He oversees the quality of project implementation through the direct management of Program Managers. She/he also supports the Field Coordinator (FC) in his representing tasks in external meetings under FC delegation.

Priorities for the 2/3 first months:

  • Set up/follow up parterships with local organizations
  • Launching of new projects
  • Support PMs and national teams on project implementation, follow up and internal reporting (APU)

YOUR PROFILE

Education / academic background:

Humanitarian action / project management / political siences

Specific skills and experience:

  • A first experience on a similar position
  • 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector
  • Program management
  • Experience with several grants and partnerships management
  • Strong reporting skills
  • Stress resistance
  • Management skills
  • Adaptation to a very constraint context

Language:

  • English
  • Arabic is a plus

SI WILL OFFER YOU

A salaried position:

According to experience, starting from EUR 2250 gross per month (2475 base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of USD 750.

SI also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate’s country of origin and the place of assignment.

Breaks: During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of 7 working days every three months (with a USD 850 break allowance, allocated by Sl). To these breaks periods, SI grants one (1) additional rest day per month worked.

Insurance package: Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which refunds all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded.

LIVING CONDITIONS:

  • Guest House conditions : GH is simple but nice, 3 bathrooms with running water/showers (cold water), 2 squating toilets + 1 western toilets / private room / outside space. Electricity back up that allows 24/7 electricity
  • Internet and telephone network: Satellite internet in office not in GH. 4G mobile network available with some network cuts, sometimes for a few days. Challenging to watch netflix or youtube for instance. Whatsapp calls totally ok.
  • Restaurant & social life: No restaurants validated for now. Limited social life, few INGOs in town, curfew at 7pm.

SECURITY:

Very volatile context. Level 4. Very limited movements
