Team Leader

The Team Leader will lead the delivery of the UK Support for Disability & Mental Health in Ghana ‘Leave no One Behind as Ghana moves Beyond Aid’ programme, providing inspirational, strategic, technical & managerial oversight. S/he will be accountable for developing & implementing the programme, leading effective, results-oriented execution of high quality work on time & within budget.

Responsibilities:

The Team Leader will lead the delivery of the UK Support for Disability and Mental Health in Ghana

‘Leave no One Behind as Ghana moves Beyond Aid’ programme in Ghana, providing inspirational, strategic, technical and managerial oversight to the programme. S/he will be accountable for the overall development and implementation of the programme, leading the consortium (organistions and staff) in effective, results-oriented execution of high quality work on time and within budget.

The post holder will also support cross learning across Options programmes, including building relations with current and potential clients, key government stakeholders, in-country partners, and representing the programme’s broader interests to leverage and develop new opportunities for programme growth and development.

Person specification:

  • Strong proven technical expertise (5- 10 years) in the field(s) of social inclusion (or a closely related programme areas such as mental health and/or disability or governance)
  • Outstanding leadership and engagement skills for building consensus and inspiring motivation and commitments among diverse stakeholders, including clients, partners and consortia
  • Significant and proven experience working in international development in a senior leadership / management role
  • Experience on the development and implementation of programmes within the health sector in Ghana
  • Excellent record of people management and management of teams
  • Consortium management experience
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, budgeting and programme control
  • Experience with payment by results contracting
  • Proven track record in overseeing programme monitoring, evaluation, research and learning
  • Strong influencing, diplomacy and leadership skills
  • Working knowledge and relationships pertaining to mental health and/or disability in Ghana
  • Excellent financial and people management skills
  • Strategic thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Planning and organising
  • Strong writing and reporting skills
  • Grant management experience
