GFA Consulting group with Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, are preparing a tender proposal for the Improvement of Healthcare in Tanzania (EmOC/Neonatal care) in Tanzania that will be financed by the German development agency GIZ. Start is foreseen for October 2020. The goal of the project is set to tackle major healthcare issues regarding reproductive, maternal, neonatal, child and adolescent health and improving quality of care. In particular services for reproductive health, including basic emergency obstetric and neonatal care and post-partum family planning services in the supported partner health facilities with a strive for introducing or strengthening Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care (CEmONC). One particular project component is aimed at performance improvement of selected health facilities in neonatal care, establishing new born care units and assuring adequate care to new-borns in critical condition. Another component aims at integrating Family Planning counselling into Antenatal Care (ANC), Postnatal Care (PNC) and Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), developing and implementing behaviour change interventions for FP providers. Project activities include strengthening the capacity of staff in the target facilities to provide adequate new-born care through training at health centre and district level in a patient centred approach; establishing on the job trainings and supporting continuous mentoring in combination with supportive supervision by the Regional Health Management Team (RHMT) and Council Health Management Team (CHMT); establishing peer learning processes across facilities with focus on referral management ; enhancing maternal and perinatal death surveillance and response and providing support to the quality improvement teams.

We are looking for German speaking Team Leader (18 months with start in October 2020) who will be based in Dar Es Salaam, manage all work packages and
• Ensure the quality of the outputs and deliverables of the short-term experts , • Ensure that all clinical training provided is in line with WHO as well as national standards and guidelines, • Ensure oversight of quality of the implementation of clinical training and mentoring and own participation as well as of managerial interventions, • Participate in and contribution to national technical working groups and more.
