We seek to recruit a Temporary Monitoring and Evaluation Associate  for DREAMS PROJECT  for a period of Four Months (Sep 2017 to Dec 2017). He /she  will work closely with the Monitoring & Evaluation team to provide a wide range of support services that ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the team will be responsible for overall coordination of DREAMS Project Monitoring and Evaluation activities. The position will be based in Homa Bay County.

Specific Duties and responsibilities:

  • Support in the development, management and implementation of the M&E plan for Homa bay County.
  • Assist in data management at all levels (Ward, LIP and project level) of the interventions in Homa bay County.
  • Gather information, provide feedback and technical editing of project progress reports in Homa Bay County.
  • Assist in preparation of data tables for the DREAMS indicators for Homabay County for project review meetings.
  • Ensure proper documentation of findings, best practices and lessons learnt in Homa bay County.
  • Ensure data quality at site levels (Ward, LIP and health facility) by carrying out monthly routine data audit assessments and reviews in Homa bay County .
  • Support in training the M&E team, MOH stakeholders and sub-grantees on data management, reporting tools and indicator definitions in Homa Bay County.
  • Undertake training and supervision of short-term consultants when working on M&E data management assignments.
  • Conduct DATIM data entry, cleaning and validation on a quarterly basis.
  • Conduct review meeting at the county level and provide feedback to stakeholders in Homabay County.
  • Capacity building the MOH staff for Homa bay county at both community and facility level.
  • Ensure availability of the reporting tools at all levels (Ward, health facility and LIPs) by conducting quarterly tool gap analysis and distributing tools.
  • Mentorship of HCW and LIP staff of the DREAMS reporting requirements.
  • Support the reporting and data compilation by LIP and CBOs for Homa bay County.
  • Support and participate in M&E TWG meeting for Homa Bay County.

Required Experience

  • Bachelors’ degree in relevant field and at least 3 years relevant experience or be in possession of a minimum of Diploma in relevant field with at least 4 years relevant experience. The individual should have a strong analytical, communication and reporting skills and demonstrated experience in working Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong documentation skills including report writing.
  • Computer literate; experience in using Ms Office suite.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written is essential.
  • Self-starter with ability to operate effectively under stress.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, confidently and appropriately within a cross-cultural environment.
  • Good organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize tasks with little supervision with MOH health facilities as well as working with CSOs.

You must currently have legal authorization to work in Kenya.
