In the context of sexualised violence, our partner organisation Réseau d’innovation organisationnel (RIO) makes an effective contribution to creating peaceful coexistence in communities. Among other things, RIO relies on counsellors who are dedicated to the reintegration of traumatised women and girls and offer them psychosocial support. In addition, RIO initiates regenerative and integrative activities that contribute to healing and community inclusion.

RIO does not have the human resources to train its staff in psychosocial counselling and trauma healing, among other things, and is looking for you. Your commitment will enable traumatised people to return to their community and at the same time strengthen the psychosocial skills of RIO staff.

RIO is based in Bukavu, in the province of South Kivu, DR Congo.

Job Scope

As an international peace expert at RIO, you will be involved in psychosocial, regenerative and strategic training areas as mentioned above, primarily to empower women.

In detail, your tasks will include:

  • Taking stock of training needs
  • Conception and realisation of workshops etc.
  • Contributing to the development of creative approaches and methods
  • Needs-based professional and peer counselling
  • On the job training and coaching
  • Contributing to the reintegration of traumatised people into their community
  • Coaching, supervision and monitoring of counsellors
  • Project management support with a focus on monitoring
  • Development of an international network

Profile

  • A relevant degree (at least a Bachelor’s degree)
  • Expertise in psychosocial support
  • Project management skills in development policy
  • Good written and spoken French skills
  • Strong analytical and systemic thinking skills
  • Enjoy promoting colleagues and learning from each other
  • Sensitivity and interest in the conflict context
  • Openness and motivation for social integration into the DR Congo culture

Citizenship of a Member State of the European Union or Switzerland is required.
